BROADCAST ENGINEERING'S EXCELLENCE CONTEST

for its entry in the magazines 7th annual Excellence Awards competition. |

Electronics was presented with a plaque at the Las Vegas Convention Center in
Las Vegas, Nevada, on opening day of the 2008 National Association of Broadcasters
for its entry, "XV Pan American Games" in the "new studio technology
- network" category. The Excellence Awards recognize
innovation, high-quality design and superior construction in new telco, cable,
broadcast and production facilities. Network Electronics chose to submit a description
of the system it provided to the XV Pan American Games held in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil in July 2007. The elaborate network culminated years of planning and preparation
to support live simultaneous feeds from geographically dispersed locales. Network
Electronics, a leading signal transport equipment manufacturer worked with its
Brazilian distributor, Libor, to design and supply the system based around the
company's Flashlink fiber optical transport platform to accommodate situations
requiring a mix of high and standard definition gear and long-haul transmission.
Entries take the form of brief, descriptive articles, and are published in the
magazine's December issue supplement, The Digital Reference Guide. Broadcast Engineering's
readers serve as judges and are encouraged to vote for their favorite submissions
online at Broadcast Engineer's Web site. This year's winners were chosen from
a pool of 45 submissions that originated from the facilities themselves, or from
vendors and manufacturers that were instrumental in building, fabricating or providing
equipment. Winning entries are featured in the magazine's special March NAB Preview
